Our Puppies

Here at Jabez Bichons it is our purpose and goal to preserve the purebred Bichon.

Every puppy is sold with a health guarantee, pedigree, AKC registration papers and a spay/neuter contract unless otherwise discussed. This is in place in order to protect the breed.We are responsible for each puppy sold for the rest of their life and it is our goal to place them in life long, loving homes. We do ask for the “first right of refusal” on all our puppies; so should you be unable to keep him/her we ask that you get in touch with us so we can help relocate the dog.

The over-all dog is our concern. This involves breeding for healthy Bichons with clearances on health related issues. Temperament, structure, and movement are all held to the highest regard.

We assess our puppies at 8 weeks and then again at 12 weeks. We apply our assessment of each puppy when looking at individual families and their lifestyles. We encourage you to visit our home and spend a few hours with our puppies and their family.

Research shows that it is best to not place puppies before the age of 11-12 weeks of age, especially when looking at smaller breeds. We do a lot of training and socializing at this stage to ensure that your dog is secure and well adjusted when he/she comes home. Our puppies are raised in our home with our adult dogs and use a litter box up to the age of 8 weeks when we start to slowly crate train them and teach them to go outside.

We also encourage you to research the breeders you speak with by visiting them and looking at parents and certified health testing. You will probably speak to many breeders. Research them carefully and learn to ask the correct questions before making such an important decision about purchasing a new family member.
